Best. Valentine's. Day. Ever. (Thanks KSU).

BEST. VALENTINE'S. DAY. EVER!!!!!!!!  A WILDCAT VICTORY OVER KU!!!!!!!!!!!  :)

Ok....after I calmed down from the excitement of the game...I was able to focus on The Bachelor.  It is officially down to 6 women: Britt, Emily, Chantal, Shawntel, Michelle & Ashley....and they are on the island of Anguilla.

Emily is the lucky lady to get the first one on one date to their OWN ISLAND in the middle of the Carribean.  Get it girl!  :)  It was PRETTY awkward watching them make some small talk when they first got situated on the island.  Also, ABC, epic fail on the editing.  One second they are all dried off and the next minute, their hair is wet and looks like they had been for a swim.  Cheesiest line EVER, "We're losing the sun and gaining the moon."  I am so glad they finally opened up to each other and I am starting to see chemistry there.  I know Brad really wants to meet Ricky, Emily's daughter, but I have to give her props for wanting to protect her daughter.  Brad "broke the rules" by telling her that they are going to her hometown and she WILL be getting a rose to ease her mind a little bit.

Poor Britt, just can't seem to catch a break on catching some alone time with Brad.  Girlfriend needs to eat a twinkie or something in the meantime, she is so tiny!  And, any stylists out there want to work their magic on her hair...please?

Shawntel got the second date.  They went for a bike ride and toured the streets of Anguilla.  She is a fun girl with a great personality...and he was able to see that.  I also love that they can walk the streets with full glasses of wine in hand.  Later in the night, during dinner, they were able to open up about their families and I am not going to lie, I found myself zoning out.  But, none the less they are happy dancing to the music of the most "popular" singer in Anguilla....whatever that means.

In the meantime, Britt gets notice that she will get the next one on one date! And all of the girls are green with envy watching them wade through the "Sea of Love" to their own yacht.  Michelle probably had my favorite line of the night, "Not only do I not see them getting married, I don't know if I even see them friending each other on facebook."  They get to go cliff diving, and I might be slightly jealous....I mean Jacob from Twilight and his Wolfpack got to do it!  I like Britt.  I just don't know if I like her for Brad.  She seems almost to honest and genuine, and relatable (at least for me anyway).  I think Brad was trying way too hard to find a romantic connection with her, when it is just not there.  Definitely better off as friends and Britt had a hard time recognizing that.  He had no rose with him, but still bid her Adieu.  I did find it funny that she went straight to Michelle to hug her goodbye.  Weird.

Finally, the group date.  Brad woke them up in the middle of the night and surprised them with a photoshoot for Sports Illustrated.  I understand the fact that Chantal feels fat, what girl doesn't have those days, but she has been in a swimsuit every day...what's different.  Ashley and Chantal went topless and Michelle just isn't the type of girl that is "easily persuaded" to do that.  But, she has a passionate makeout session with Brad in the sand right in front of the other girls.  Way to keep it classy.  Lots of estrogen and emotions flying around and this date is a pretty lame one, thank God for the pretty colored drinks to keep it going.  I secretly wished he did not give Ashley the rose (Michelle at least keeps it entertaining)....she is way too insecure and talks in a baby voice.  Basically, Brad just played the role of therapist...especially to Chantal, who knows how to turn up the waterworks.

Again, Brad decides to be a "rule breaker" and ditch the cocktail party before the rose ceremony.  Such a rebel he is.  I leave you with two words: GOODBYE MICHELLE!!!!!!!

I think I can sing better than Bob Dylan...

I love music.  I love all kinds of music.  While there is other music that I prefer over others, I still have an open mind and can respect the fact that people can express themselves through all genres.  I am also all about supporting new artists and giving them the recognition that they have worked so hard to achieve....however, who the heck is Arcade Fire and how did they beat out Lady A, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, etc...for Album of the Year?  I lost interest into their performance very quickly...I mean of course of all the groups nominated in that category, they needed the biggest career booster...but REALLY?  I was SHOCKED.  Once it was announced, my mom said "REALLY, are you kidding me?  I stayed up all night to see a group that I don't even know win?  I would have picked Eminem over them."  Haha, couldn't agree more Momma Jean.

Lady Gaga of course delivered her highly anticpated freak show performance....I love her music, but I forget about how talented of a musician she actually is b/c I can't get past her choice of clothing...the points coming out of her shoulders and forehead...what the heck?  I also found it weird that she thanked Whitney Houston at the end...ohhhh k Gaga, whatever drugs you are on, I do not want to try them!

Best New Artist goes to.........Esperanza Spalding?  WTF?  SHE BEAT BIEBER? Who is this girl?  I will admit I have a slight case of Bieber Fever....regardless of what people say about him, the kid is talent.  He can sing, dance, actually play instruments....he will be around for awhile.
Some other WTF moments....Rihanna's whorish performance and choice in clothing, Bob Dylan...yeah still cannot sing, and Mick Jagger, well bless his heart, he tried.
Moments I loved?  Bruno Mars, this kid can do no wrong (musically) in my eyes, LOVED his performance.  The tribute to Aretha (Yolanda Adams, Martina McBride, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson & Florence ?)...LOVED it.  While Christina Aguilera did not wear the most flattering dress in the world, she totally redeemed herself...excellent vocals, and Jennifer, well she looked amazing and sounded even better!  Lady A dominated, congrats to them!

Sidenote: I am on a mission to see all 10 Oscar nominated movies....I have only 3 left (The King's Speech, The Fighter & Social Network).  I watched most of them this weekend and I have to say, 127 Hours has probably been my most favorite thus far.  I may be bias b/c I would marry James Franco at the drop of a hat AND I love a true story, especially one with a great ending.  So, everyone go see it...but there are several parts you find yourself cringing....it's a truly amazing story.

And to think I don't have an opinion....

During a discussion between Emily and Michelle, these exact words came out of Michelle's mouth when talking about Chantal O., "For me, I just feel like she's really agressive and really overly confident, almost like egotistical."  Ok pot, meet kettle!  Michelle was only a little bitter as Chantal O. is the lucky lady to receive the first one-on-one date.  I may not be her biggest fan (nothing against her, just the fact that she is not Emily), but there is no denying the chemistry that her & Brad share.  Not only does she get the one-on-one date with Brad, but they got to do something I have on my Bucket List: Ziplining....and not just any old zipline, of course is is the longest one in the world.  Then again, I think ABC chose this just so Brad could use the line, "taking our relationship to new heights".  Oh boy.  I did love the fact that during the evening when it started raining and they both grab ahold of their wine glasses.  Priorities.  When Chantal O. changed into some dry clothes (and by dry clothes I mean Brad's shirt and nothing else), she walked out and Brad gave her the "I want you so bad right now" look.  And....she get's the rose.

Emily, Shawntel, Crazy Michelle, Britt, Ashley, and Jackie.  They were going to repel down a waterfall, when they were looking over, I was secretly hoping Michelle would lose her footing.  Darn, wishful thinking.  I am unsure of Ashley's intelligence level the more and more I see of her....call it the editing or whatever you want.  She gushed at how amazing Brad because he gave them hugs and told them it was going to be okay right before they repelled down this waterfall.  Uh, I don't think that makes him amazing....what is he going to say "Good luck, there is an off chance you might die, but you will do great."  Michelle called Jackie dramatic for being terrified of heights...really Michelle, REALLY?  I think there was an entire segment of you freaking out before going down that building.  Later on in the evening, after talking to Jackie, Brad realizes that she was jealous of the fact that he repelled with Michelle and not her.  He then says it bothers him b/c that is his "job" is to make sure they are all happy.  WRONG.  That is the reason they are all hot messes.  Your job is to find "love" not make empty promises to them.   Brad awkwardly ended the group date by NOT handing out a rose. Oh boy, here come the claws and the tears.

Brad and Alli rode off on horseback to a 40 million (?) year old cave.  Earlier in the show, Alli was so terrified of a BEETLE, that she threw her wine glass and screamed bloody murder.  I hate spiders, but really, a beetle?  She sure handled the cave pretty well for someone who is so "scared"....play down the drama factor girlfriend.  I found myself yawning during their talk, then I had to rewind it just to see if it really was that boring....it was kind of uncomfortable to watch.

Michelle, honey, you are just trying way too hard and it is a shame that Brad cannot see that.  I think he is just keeping her around for well, you know what.  No one is right for Brad in her eyes, and for her it seems that this experience is more of a competition and beating Chantal is the goal, rather than being with Brad.  You could definitely hear the crickets chirping after Michelle told everyone she went to Brad's and lied to their faces about what she said.  Their expressions were priceless.  I didn't think Jackie would make it much longer, but Britt hasn't gotten much air time, so I was convinced it would be her.  She was pretty composed and didn't turn up the waterworks...atta girl!

When I paused the TV, I looked at the screen and this was the picture that was on the screen.  Definintely a nutcase....I mean, that expression says it all.

SIDENOTE:

For anyone who watched the Super Bowl, aside from the actual game...favorite moments?  Loved Lea Michele's version of "America the Beautiful"...sang it like it should be.  As for the National Anthem...well, that didn't fare so well in my opinion.  Xtina came out looking like a blonde Snookie and botched the words and even some notes, even though it was a safe assumption she was going to add way to many rifts and notes.  Girl needs to get it together, and a new stylist might help her do so.  I personally loved the halftime show, pitchy or not, I think everyone can agree it was very entertaining.  Usher was a nice surprise, love me some Usher dancing!  Favorite commercial....I loved the Bridgestone one with the guy who e-mailed out "reply all" instead of "reply"---probably b/c I can totally relate to that.  I also loved the Volkswagon one with the little boy dressed as Dark Vader.  Well done.  :)

Lucky Girl....

What I wouldn't give to switch places with Anne Hathaway....
